For years, kayaking has been considered one of the world’s most exhilarating sports. With the launch of this innovative kayak—the Inflatable Kayak—experience the same feeling as no other water activity. How to make the most of your inflatable kayak.

Many of us dream of paddling across the waters, experiencing the peace and tranquility found only in a kayak. While inflatable kayaks are light-weight, affordable, and durable, they lack the structural stability of a fiberglass or hard-shell kayak. They’re also usually much smaller than their hard-shell counterparts.  That does not mean they are not worth the investment because they certainly are. Let me give you my thoughts on these versatile recreatonal inflatable kayaks.

Is the inflatable kayak worth it?

The inflatable kayak is a relatively new invention that has gained popularity in the last decade. Though it has some advantages over a traditional kayak, inflatable kayaks also have their share of drawbacks.

Most inflatable kayaks tend to be inexpensive, but they can be flimsy and prone to puncture. Therefore it is best to spend a little bit more on a quality kayak. There are a number of very well made heavy duty inflatables that have high reviews when it comes to durability.

Some of the inflatable kayaks can be lightweight and easy to carry, but you really need to make sure they are heavy enough to stand up to the elements. We will talk about some of the benefits in a moment.

Do inflatable kayaks puncture easily?

Here again, it all depends o the quality of the material used in the kayak. The heavier the material is the less likley that it will puncture. That being said, almost all inflatable kayaks come with repair kits just in case. However, if you are careful in transporting the kayak and keep an eye on where you are paddling you should not have any issues with leaks. Most inflatables are made with at least 5 chambers so even if you spring a leak the kayak will not sink and you will easily be able to paddle back.

What are some Benefits of Recreational Inflatable Kayaks?

Here are just a few benefits of inflatable kayaks. They are generally lighter than hard-shell kayaks, making them easier to move around. They are easier to store because they take up less space. There is no need for a trailer or transportation to carry the kayak because inflatable kayaks fold up into small bundles that are easy to carry. Inflatable kayaks are ideal for kayakers who enjoy being outside but have limited access to large rivers and lakes.

The best part of having your own inflatable kayak is that you can take it with you anywhere you want. Going on a vacation? Throw the kayak in the trunk and take it with you. Want to try out a new fishing area? Throw the kayak in the back seat and go for it. You get the drift you can take it wherever you go.

Inflatable kayaks are a great choice for those who enjoy kayaking but don’t want to commit to the expense and maintenance of a traditional boat. Inflatable kayaks also come in a variety of sizes and colors, so there is something for everyone.

What is best inflatable kayak?

The best inflatable kayak isn’t necessarily the one you see with the most features, but rather the one that delivers a superior performance and feel in the water, and the one that is likely to last longer. A kayak that fits into your lifestyle and doesn’t require too much maintenance should be the criteria. Here are four of the best top rated Inflatable Kayaks.

Is it OK to leave an inflatable kayak inflated?

The best way to ensure that kayaks stay cool is to keep them properly inflated in the water, but how long can they stay inflated? How often should they be deflated? What’s a good time frame for inflating, deflating, and storing them?

It really does not hurt the kayak to remain inflated as long as it is stored in a safe place away from sharp objects or fires. However, before you get ready to put her back in the water make sure it is properly inflated for flotation. Better safe than sorry.

Once again make sure you take a look at the inflatable kayaks above as they are some of the best.
